For the next Internet Governance Leaders – understanding the Internet Governance ecosystem: The 2021 GhanaSIG is a balanced mixture of theoretical lectures and practical presentations from very experienced experts in the Internet Governance ecosystem.

Application

Applications will be accepted from students and individuals working in the private sector, in governments, academia or in civil society groups from Ghana. The basic requirements for applying as a Fellow is the ability to read, write and speak English, and an interest to know more about the Internet Governance ecosystem. The programme is a 1 week event, and after completion, the participants become Fellows of the Ghana School on Internet Governance.  Application and attendance for Fellows selected is free

Lunch will be provided for the week. Sponsorship support for fellowship (full or partly for travel and accommodation cost) is possible for fellows from outside Accra. However, priority will be given to self-funding of travel costs and accommodation due to limited funds. Applications are open from 1st March to 31st March. Selected applicants will be announced by 12th April, 2021

The tentative venue is Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), Accra, Ghana.

2021 Ghana School on Internet Governance (GhanaSIG) fellows announced

Today, 14th April 2021, the E-Governance and Internet Governance Foundation for Africa (EGIGFA) announced the 38 individuals that have been selected to participate in the 2nd edition of the  Ghana School on Internet Governance (GhanaSIG) programme as Fellows.

The selected Fellows represent participants from various stakeholder groups.  The aim of the GhanaSIG is to create an avenue for people from diverse sectors and backgrounds to acquire the requisite skills in order to participate meaningfully to Internet Governance discourse at the community, national, regional and the international levels.

The fellowship programme is scheduled to take place in Accra from 29th June-2nd July, 2021. The hybrid programme is made up of one (1) month online learning sessions and followed by the face-to-face training (if Covid-19 conditions allow). Onsite venue will be communicated soon to participants.
